Cycling safety and promotion

Description
Cycling for transport has the potential to lead to huge gains in population health (such as through increased physical activity) and environmental health. However, a number of barriers exist that prevent people from riding bikes. A number of projects are available across the spectrum of cycling safety and promotion, including: - Understanding the key causes and locations of cyclist crashes - Understanding the lived experiences of people riding bikes (such as naturalistic studies of adults or children) - Evaluating interventions to improve cyclist safety and increase cycling participation - The role of e-bikes in cities of today and the future - The role of other micro-mobility devices in our cities of today and the future - The use of machine learning techniques to improve cyclist safety Top-up scholarship funding is available to outstanding candidates.
